Colts to go to the YAC Superbowl

Neighbors | Submitted.All three Austintown Colts teams defeated their opponents to head the the YAC Superbowl. The 100 pound squad will face off against the Boardman Little Spartans and both the 120 and 140 pound teams will take on the Canfield Littl Cardinals.

Neighbors | Submitted.The Austintown Colts 140 pound team defeated the Howland Little Tigers with a score of 60-0. They will face the Canfield Little Cardinals in the YAC Superbowl.

All three Austintown Colts teams defeated their opponents on Oct. 26 to advance to the 2014 YAC Superbowl.

The 100 pound squad took on the Howland Little Tigers at Howland Middle School. The team battled the Little Tigers in the playoffs with both teams leaving it all on the field. The Colts fought their way back after being down 8-6 at half time to pull put the win over the Tigers 20-16. The 100 pound Colts will take on the Boardman Little Spartans in the Superbowl.

The 120 pound Colts played the Howland Little Tigers at Austintown Fitch Stadium for their chance at the Superbowl. Defensive stops were made by both teams. The Colts’ Devin Winford scored late in the second half of the game, finishing with a safety leaving the final score 8-6. The 120 pound Colts will play Canfield on Nov. 2 in the Superbowl.

The Austintown Colts 140 pound team will advance to the Superbowl after their win over the Howland Little Tigers. Multiple touchdowns were made by Julian Johnson, Kris Scandy and Samuel Bister, as well as a defensive touchdown by Kris Scandy, which led to the 60-0 victory. The Colts will take on the Canfield Little Cardinals at the Superbowl.
