“A Poet in New York” (8:30 P.M., BBC AMERICA): Tom Hollander shines in the new TV film, “A Poet in New York.” It’s a heart-wrenching look at the final days of revered poet Dylan Thomas, whose self- destructive ways led to his death in 1953 at the age of 39.

“First Air War” (9 p.m., PBS): “Nova” looks at the World War I transformation of military aircraft.

“Blackish” (9:30 P.M., ABC): Dre’s family members pull Halloween pranks on one another. Hmm. Sounds “Roseanne”-ish.

Michael Stanley, Donnie Iris tickets

The Dec. 19 Michael Stanley and Donnie Iris concert at the Northfield Park Rocksino is sold out, so a second show on Dec. 21 has been added.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at all Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and by phone at 800-745-3000. Prices are $59.50 and $47.50. This show is for 21 and over.

Kupensky, Fiala in St. Pat’s concert

Harpist Kirk Kupensky and cellist Rev. Vit Fiala will present a concert at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave.

Kupensky and Father Fiala, a Franciscan priest and director of the Shrine of our Lady, Comforter of the Afflicted in Youngstown, are known for their duets.

The concert is part of the monthly Sauce and Songs program at St. Patrick Church. Admission is free, but an offering will be accepted.

Sculptor to present lecture at museum

YOUNGSTOWN

Sculptor Michael Jones McKean will give a free lecture at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the McDonough Museum of Art’s lecture hall.

McKean, a professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, has received a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Nancy Graves Foundation Award and an Artadia Award. His work has been exhibited at museums and galleries worldwide.

His lecture, sponsored by the Youngstown State University department of art, is in collaboration with the Drift Project, a platform for temporary public art that uses bodies of water as a context for presentation.

Based in Pittsburgh, the Drift Project works with resident artists and collaborative groups to create site-specific projects on the rivers.
