Model trains of all types can be seen at the Youngstown Model Railroad Association during its annual fall open house weekends.

The club, at the intersection of Raccoon Road and Four Mile Run Road, will be open to the public Saturday and Sunday, and again Nov. 8-9 and Dec. 6-7.

The hours for all six days are noon until 6 p.m. Admission is $4 per person (free for children 11 and under with adult).

The Youngstown Model Railroad Association is one of the few clubs in the country that has two complete displays, one in O scale and the other in smaller HO scale. Each room-size layout features more than 100 scale miles of track.

The HO layout is undergoing a major renovation. The creation of a complete steel-mill complex and its track work are in the process of being built, along with a new passenger station that depicts the New York Central station that was in downtown Youngstown.

The O scale layout offers a special fascination for many as it brings back memories of the trains kept beneath Christmas trees years ago.
