Phil Klein, p, Texas Rangers: Went 1-2 with a 2.84 ERA in 17 games, striking out 23 and walking five in 19 innings since being called up on Aug. 1. Previously, Klein went 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA in nine games with Triple-A Round Rock, striking out 42 and walking 14 in 33 1/3 innings. He also went 3-0 with a 0.81 ERA with 10 saves at Double-A Frisco (Texas). Klein was drafted by the Rangers in the 30th round of the 2011 draft.

MINOR LEAGUES

AUSTINTOWN FITCH

Steven Gruver, p, Fort Myers Miracle (Advanced-A). Gruver went 4-6 with a 2.79 ERA in 42 games (10 starts). He struck out 58 and walked 35 in 87 innings. Gruver was drafted by the Twins in the seventh round of the 2011 draft.

SPRINGFIELD

Todd Kibby, p, Lake Erie Crushers (Independent Frontier League): Kibby went 6-2 with a 2.12 ERA in 15 games (14 starts). He struck out 75 and walked 31 in 80 2/3 innings. Kibby was drafted by the White Sox in the 37th round of the 2011 draft out of St. Petersburg (Fla.) Junior College.

Justin Thomas, p, Kia Tigers (Korean Baseball Organization): Went 0-2 with a 4.80 ERA in seven games (six starts), striking out 36 and walking 12 in 30 innings. Before going overseas,Thomas went 4-8 with a 6.93 ERA in 20 games (all starts) with the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees. He was a fourth-round pick by the Mariners in the 2005 draft and has had brief stints in the majors in 2008 (with Seattle), 2010 (Pittsburgh) and 2012 (Red Sox and Yankees). He pitched part of the 2013 season in Japan.

Eric Marzec, p, Huntsville Stars (AA): Marzec went 1-4 with a 3.34 ERA in 38 games with the Stars. He struck out 50 and walked 27 in 72 2/3 innings. He also pitched six outings for Triple-A Nashville, giving up four runs (two earned) on 10 hits in 13 2/3 innings. Marzec was a 30th-round pick by the Brewers in the 2010 draft.

Drew Dosch, 3b, Delmarva (A). Dosch batted .314 in 128 games with a .783 OPS (on-base plus slugging). Dosch was a 7th-round pick by the Orioles in the 2013 draft.
