Hubbard remains top Division III team

Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, the undefeated Hubbard High School football team remains the highest-ranked squad in Division III.

In the latest Associated Press poll of Ohio schools, Hubbard (9-0) received 19 of 26 first-place votes. Huber Heights Wayne (9-0) received three first-place votes and is ranked second.

Poland (8-1), whose only loss was to Hubbard in Week 5, finished 13th in the poll. Poland closes the regular season against Canfield while Hubbard plays Struthers.

Two Mahoning Valley schools were mention in Division VII. Western Reserve (8-1) is ranked fifth while Wellsville (7-2) received enough votes to finish 14th.

In Division VI, undefeated McDonald (9-0) is ranked sixth and received two first-place votes.

In Division IV, Cardinal Mooney’s 31-7 victory over Ursuline last Friday helped the Cardinals (5-3) climb into ninth place. In Division V, Ursuline (6-3) is 10th, one spot ahead of Liberty.
