Campbell man, 51, faces drug charges

CAMPBELL

Police arrested David Moss Jr., 51, of Campbell on charges of possessing drugs, drug trafficking and possessing drug paraphernalia at 3:05 p.m. Friday at Vasu Manor on Roosevelt Drive. Police also arrested Charles Nathan Clifton Colpetro on charges of drug trafficking and possessing drug paraphernalia.

The Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority requested police and dogs do a drug-inspection of Vasu Manor apartments Friday. Police entered Moss’ apartment and saw a suspected marijuana cigarette.

Police found 26.2 grams of suspected marijuana next to sandwich bags and a black scale in the apartment and also an individual bag of 2.2 grams of marijuana.

Both Moss and Colpetro were taken to the Mahoning County jail and have a 9 a.m. Campbell Municipal Court date today.

Man arrested at health-care facility

YOUNGSTOWN

Police arrested a man early Monday, accused of breaking a window at a Belmont Avenue health-care facility and getting inside.

Officers were called to Belmont Guardian Health Care, 1735 Belmont Ave., about 3:20 a.m. for a report of a broken window and when they arrived they found 26-year-old Shawn Rush of Youngstown inside covered in blood.

An employee said he heard glass breaking and when he went to investigate he found Rush inside.

Reports said Rush was incoherent and mumbling about President Barack Obama. When he was placed in a cruiser, he banged his head against a divider several times so violently that police took him to St. Elizabeth Health Center to be checked for injuries.

He was then taken to the Mahoning County jail on charges of vandalism and burglary.

A man told police he was stabbed in the chest as he tried to break up a fight between a group of women Saturday night on an East Side street.

Henry Wylie, 42, of North Garland Avenue, told police he was walking on Jackson Street about 9 p.m. when he saw the women fighting. When he tried to break it up, one of them pulled a pocket knife and stabbed him in the chest, reports said.

Reports said Wylie ran away and drove himself to ValleyCare Northside Hospital for treatment, which is where poilce were called.

Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course hosted the first drawing of its first big promotion Sunday night. A Youngstown woman won $5,000 cash as the first prize during the 9 p.m. drawing, said Hollywood Gaming marketing director Scott Frost.

There were three drawings Sunday night, and $12,800 was awarded in free play to 29 winners, ranging from $100 to $1,000 per win.

The final round of drawing is Nov. 23 with three drawings that day as well. The final draw at 9 p.m. that day will be for the grand prize, a Chevy Traverse.
