Cortland woman named Miss Clayland

Jenna DePizzo, a 22-year old from Cortland, was named Miss Clayland 2015 on Oct. 11. She will advance to compete in the Miss Ohio Scholarship Pageant on June 20, 2015, in Mansfield.

As Miss Clayland, DePizzo received a $4,000 cash scholarship and a $500 in-kind scholarship to Kent State University – Tuscarawas. DePizzo also received the community service award, which totaled $250.

DePizzo is a 2014 summa cum laude graduate of Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, where she received a bachelor’s degree in education. She has returned to the Rock to obtain her master’s through the K-8 math and science program and teaches first grade at Bascom Elementary School of LaBrae School District.

DePizzo is a 2010 graduate of Lakeview High School.
