Serbian sisters prepare for Night in Belgrade

YOUNGSTOWN

The Circle of Serbian Sisters will host its annual Night in Belgrade on Nov. 1 at the Serbian Memorial Hall, 54 Laird Ave.

A buffet dinner will be served from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for $25 for adults, $10 for ages 6 to 12 and free for kids under 5. The dinner comprises ethnic Serbian cuisine featuring chicken, rolled cabbage, rice pilaf, cevapcici, strawberry romaine salad and other traditional fare, including palachinke (crepes) for dessert.

Libby Fill’s Ladies Tamburitzans will provide dinner music, and dance music will be provided by Pobeda Orchestra from Pittsburgh. To attend the dance only will cost $10.

Entertainment will include St. Nicholas Tamburitzans from Monroeville, Pa., a basket auction and door prizes. Candidates will speak briefly to give their qualifications.

Proceeds will be used to purchase new items for the parish house.

The Serbian Sisters were organized 88 years ago, and its objective is to give care and support to the parish home, church and kitchen.
