Youngstown woman charged with stealing more than $20,000 worth of items from Lowellville business

A 35-year-old Youngstown woman was in Mahoning County jail Friday, charged with stealing more than $20,000 in goods from a West Wood Street residence.
Police arrested Gwen Odem at her Sheridan Street home Thursday afternoon on charges of theft.
Police Chief Ryan Bonacci said Odem allegedly stole more than $20,000 worth of plumbing supplies, tools, a go-cart, a mini motorcycle, air compressors, copper and other items.
“We received an anonymous tip that [Odem] was in possession of the theft victim’s compound bows,” he said. “After interviewing her, things seemed to add up.”
According to Struthers Municipal Court, she has four fourth-degree felony charges and two third-degree felony charges against her. Odem was arraigned at the Struthers Municipal Court Friday and held on an $80,000 cash bond.
She has a preliminary hearing Friday at Struthers Municipal Court.
