Men from Youngstown and Lowellville were jailed Tuesday morning, charged with a burglary at a house on Hogarth Avenue.
Bruce L. Jones, 32, of Wood Street, Lowellville, and Phillip R. Latimer, 27, of Oak Hill Avenue in Youngstown, are both charged with burglary after police found them at 10:38 a.m. in a vehicle containing a big-screen television that had been stolen from the home on Hogarth.
A witness reported seeing a man running through yards with something and then stopping on Hogarth at a Jeep Cherokee that wouldn’t start.
Police arrived at the location of the Jeep and questioned Jones and Latimer. Jones said the television was his but it had been stolen and sold to the man on Hogarth where he’d gotten it.
Latimer said he had come to that location to pick up his friend to give him a ride, but the Jeep wouldn’t start.
The police contacted the homeowner. Together, they discovered the television missing from the home and found the rear door broken open.
Jones and Latimer were arraigned Wednesday in Niles Municipal Court, where Judge Thomas Townley set bond at $7,500 for each.
