YOUNGSTOWN

Sears Holdings Corp. confirmed that it will announce store closures with the release of its third quarter financial results later in the year. A spokesman for the company said all closing stores previously have been notified with their associates and teams advised.

Public meeting

LISBON

The West Point Community Coalition, Communities United for Responsible Energy and the Ohio Organizing Collaborative are inviting all concerned citizens to attend a public information meeting about a landfill expansion in Columbiana County. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the West Point Nazarene Church, 13333 West Point Road, Lisbon.

West Point Development LLC is seeking a permit from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to expand its coal-ash disposal site to include a municipal landfill. CURE and the WPCC expect about 150 people to attend the meeting.

Ribbon cutting

BOARDMAN

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a ceremonial ribbon-cutting for the new FR 4 Less clothing store, 7392 Market St., Boardman. at 9 a.m. today.

FR 4 LESS, which is inside Stitchin Wear, opened in May. The FR 4 Less stands for Fire Resistant for Less. Owner Lynn Hack realized shops that carried fire-resistant clothing were few and far between when her husband started working for the oil and gas industry.

Firms to merge

Carbis Walker LLP announced Thursday a merger with West Virginia-based firm Arnett Foster Toothman PLLC. The new firm, Arnett Carbis Toothman LLP, will likely be one of the top 100 largest accounting firms in the United States and will include locations in New Castle, Pa., Pittsburgh, and Columbus.

Airport parking

PITTSBURGH

Pittsburgh International Airport joins Los Angeles, Newark and Washington, D.C., as one of the first airports in the U.S. to offer online parking reservations at discount rates. The Allegheny County Airport Authority, which operates the airport with parking-management company Grant Oliver, is offering this new option to reserve airport parking in advance of departure online at www.flypittsburgh.com/transportation.
