Culinary students open The Bistro at MCCTC for lunch

The student-operated restaurant, The Bistro at MCCTC, will open for lunch hours to the public beginning Nov. 4. The Bistro will be open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. for dine in or carry out through the spring. You may pre-order your meal by calling 330-729-4000 ext. 1506.

The Bistro is run by students enrolled in the Culinary Arts Program at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center. This gives students the chance to gain experience in all facets of the restaurant industry, from working as a grill cook to an expeditor in the kitchen and from serving tables to working as front of house manager.

This year features several new additions to the menu of freshly prepared soups, salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts, with everything made by students under the supervision of Culinary Arts Instructor Chef Matt Putzier.

The Bistro can also accommodate large groups and is available for rental to the public. To make a group reservation or for more rental information, call The Bistro at 330-729-4000 ext. 1506.
