Austintown Colts shut out Canfield Cardinals


The 100 pound squad of the Austintown Colts finished its regular season 6-2 after beating the Little Cardinals 6-0 on Oct. 19.

Defensive standouts, Landen Bister, Philip Bowser and Jordan Schisler kept the Cardinals scoreless while offensive standout Dominic Perry carried the game winning touchdown with a 70-yard run. The Colts finish second in the 100 pound division and will travel to Howland where they will play the Little Tigers in the playoffs on Oct. 26.

The Colts 120 pound team dominated the Cardinals with a 28-0 win. Multiple touchdowns by Winford and Donovan Oliver led to the shutout for the Colts. The 120 pound team finished as Division Champions with a 7-1 record.

The 140 pound Austintown Colts shut out the undefeated Little Cardinals with a 12-0 victory leading them to YAC playoffs as 140 pound Division co-champions with a record of 7-1. The Colts defensive line of Bryan Bellish, Carl Farina, Thomas Rader, Aaron Bohn, Nico Terrigno, CJ Woodberry, Garrett Hogan, Lorenzo Russo, Todd Simons, Diven Ellert, Julian Johnson, Kris Scandy and Colin Roberts worked together to keep the Cardinals scoreless, while the offense led the way for touchdowns by CJ Woodberry and Julian Johnson.
