Teens indicted as adults in June double murder in Mahoning County
Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN
Two men charged as juveniles earlier this year in a 2012 double homicide were indicted as adults Thursday by a Mahoning County grand jury.
Willie Daniel Jr., 18, and Tijuan Muldrow, 19, both of the Mahoning County Justice Center, were each indicted on two counts of aggravated murder, two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder with firearm specifications. They are charged in the June 1, 2012, deaths of 20-year-old Ibn Shakoor of McBride Street and Michael Johnson, also 20, of Katherine Street.
Daniel had been bound over to common pleas court from juvenile court earlier this month and Muldrow had yet to be bound over but waived a hearing to decide if he should be.
Shakoor and Johnson were found shot to death in a Chevrolet Tahoe that morning as they were sitting in Shakoor’s vehicle listening to music. Police said almost two dozen shots were fired at the SUV. A third man also was inside listening to music but was not injured, resulting in the attempted murder charge.
