Pa. township moves to ban drilling

LYNDORA, PA.
A western Pennsylvania township has created an advisory board on gas drilling and authorized restrictions on such development on residential and commercial property. But the action by Butler Township commissioners would not apply to the Krendale Golf Course well pad that Rex Energy received approval for last month that could house as many as nine wells.
Some residents have voiced concerns about possible pollution from the drilling. Officials said final approval of an ordinance will take several months.
