Abandoned homes to be demolished in Struthers

Staff report

STRUTHERS

Several abandoned homes in Struthers will be taken down within the next month.

Safety-service Director Ed Wildes announced during city council’s caucus Wednesday night asbestos will be removed from four abandoned homes, each on different streets, by Nov. 16. All will likely be demolished by Thanksgiving, he said. He estimated the total cost of that work at about $20,000.

Also Wednesday, Mayor Terry Stocker announced that both the Bob Cene Way lighting project and the Judith Lane stream restoration project were completed earlier this month.
