Rebecca Sammartino and Geoffrey Marple were united in marriage during a 3 p.m. July 12 ceremony at St. James Meeting House in Boardman Park with the Rev. Shawn Sprouse officiating. A reception followed at Antone’s Banquet Centre in Boardman. The couple honeymooned in Florida and live in Cincinnati.

The bride is the daughter of Dayne and Connie Sammartino of North Lima, and the groom is the son of Gary and Cheri Marple of Youngstown.

The bride’s ivory strapless gown featured a sweetheart neckline and a mermaid fit. It was embellished with pearls and rhinestones.

Sara Sammartino was maid of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Dayna Sammartino, sister of the bride; Maria Mooney; Lauren McGivern; and Amanda Frye. Attendants wore clover-green dresses.

Robert Pirock, the groom’s brother, was his best man. Groomsmen were Justin Thomas, Corey Keller, Michael Keller and Josh Gardner.

Ushers were Kenny McBride and Noah Brak.

Mrs. Marple earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Akron and a master’s in psychiatric social work from Ohio State University. She works as a mental health therapist at ForPsych: A Forensic Pathology Practice in Cincinnati.

Mr. Marple earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Akron and attends the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in pursuit of a medical doctor degree.
