A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

Oct. 10

Criminal damaging: A Brookfield man in the 600 block of West Liberty Street told authorities a boy threw a rock and struck his windshield, leaving two small nicks. The damage estimate was $300.

Drugs: An officer working a security detail in the 500 block of West Liberty Street reported finding a suspected marijuana pipe and an odor of suspected marijuana in a vehicle, though no charges had been filed at the time of the report.

Threats: Police were dispatched to the 20 block of Orchard Avenue, where each of two men reportedly had threatened to shoot the other.

Oct. 16

Menacing: A Stewart Avenue man reported a 31-year-old former co-worker made an implied threat, causing the accuser to fear for his safety.

LIBERTY

Oct. 8

Drugs: Police investigated a suspicious vehicle in the 4400 block of Logan Way, where they arrested a 16-year-old township boy on charges of drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespassing. The teen handed an officer a pill bottle that he admitted contained suspected marijuana; also, a suspected marijuana pipe was in the car, a report showed.

Oct. 10

Arrest: Police at the Mahoning County jail arrested 34-year-old Leah C. Petruzzi of Hood Drive, Canfield, on a township warrant.

Trespassing: Officers answered a call regarding possible gunshots in a wooded area near Aurora Drive, then filed criminal-trespassing charges against a Girard girl, 13, a Hubbard boy, 16, and a Girard boy, 17. The teens did not have permission to be in the area, where an air rifle and five magazines were seized, police said.

Arrest: A vehicle-registration check on Sodom-Hutchings Road resulted in the arrest of 43-year-old Donald W. Kowalczuk of state Route 7, Brookfield. He was wanted on a Trumbull County warrant.

Arrest: Authorities responded to possible threats at a Belmont Avenue motel before picking up Justin Gadison, 20, of Mill Run Road, Liberty, who was wanted on an outstanding township warrant.

Theft: A Chris Drive man discovered someone had crawled under his mobile home and removed about $900 worth of copper plumbing.

Oct. 11

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Mansell Drive woman said her daughter took the accuser’s 2010 Chevrolet Malibu without permission.

Criminal damaging: A woman in the 3100 block of Belmont Avenue noticed several large dents on her car and that its driver’s-side mirror had been damaged. The damage estimate was $500.

Oct. 12

Arrest: Police responded to a dispute in the 1300 block of West Montrose Avenue, where they took into custody 38-year-old Adrian L. Gordon of West Montrose, Liberty, who was wanted on a probation-violation warrant.

Drugs: A traffic stop on Belmont Avenue resulted in a charge of possession of drug-abuse instruments against Daniel E. Lavoie of Mitchell Road, West Middlesex, Pa. The 41-year-old Lavoie had seven hypodermic needles in his pocket, police said.

Oct. 13

Domestic violence: Andrea Walters, 18, of Mansell Drive, Liberty, faced misdemeanor domestic-violence and obstructing-justice charges after her mother alleged that during an argument regarding vehicle use, Walters had threatened to set the accuser’s car on fire and harm her. Also, Walters locked herself in a bedroom and refused to open the door for police, causing them to force it open to arrest her, a report stated.

Oct. 14

Assault: A Youngstown woman reported a player for the opposing football team intentionally stomped on her 13-year-old son’s chest and face, then kicked him several times after he had been tackled during a game against Liberty High School, 1 Leopard Way. The boy was treated for contusions to the chest and face, a police report said.

Drugs: Police assisting firefighters with a woman reportedly slumped in a vehicle in the 4700 block of Belmont Avenue took into custody 26-year-old Jessica L. Domkowski on a felony drug-possession charge and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Police alleged that Domkowski, of Elruth Court, Girard, had several cut straws, an item common in drug use, a bowl of suspected marijuana disguised as a tube of lipstick and a prescription capsule identified as Vyvanse, a stimulant usually used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Oct. 15

Harassment: A worker for a Belmont Avenue business said someone posted slanderous comments on Facebook pertaining to the accuser.

Oct. 16

Assault: A Girard woman alleged a 24-year-old Youngstown woman had struck her during a heated argument in the 100 block of Laurel Avenue regarding the theft of prescription medications.

GIRARD

Oct. 12

Criminal mischief: A North Highland Avenue woman discovered damage to her car’s windshield, likely from having been struck with a cellphone.

Criminal mischief: An East Howard Street woman found damage to her vehicle’s front windshield and two of its windows, likely from BBs. The damage came to $1,500.

Oct. 13

Assault: An East Prospect Street woman alleged her uncle tossed a lighted cigarette at her and struck her face during an argument after the uncle apparently had yelled at the accuser’s child.

Harassment: An Illinois Avenue man said his former girlfriend screamed at and harassed him via phone.

Oct. 14

Theft: A Hancock Street man reported his wallet missing from his residence.

Trespassing: Authorities received information about possible gunshots on private property near a set of railroad tracks off U.S. Route 422 before filing criminal-trespassing charges against Jason Brown, 37, of Pennsylvania Avenue, McDonald; Jeremy W. Brown, 38, of Robbins Avenue, Niles; Tamara A. Fairburn, 29, of Washington Avenue, Niles; and Paul C. Lewis, 36, of Robbins Avenue, Niles. The four had no permission to be on the property, where two .22-caliber pistols and several other firearms were recovered, a report showed.

Oct. 15

Arrest: Police on West Liberty Street took 35-year-old David C. Altman of Girard into custody after stopping him on a bicycle. Altman was wanted on a Weathersfield Township warrant.
