Staff report
BOARDMAN
Police continue investigating several 911 calls early Saturday after gunshots reportedly were fired during a fight involving multiple people on Moyer Avenue.
According to a police report, officers were dispatched to Moyer at 1:09 a.m. Saturday because of calls about “16 people fighting in the roadway.”
While officers were on the way to the scene, multiple 911 calls came in about gunshots coming from the fight.
When officers arrived, the fight had ended, but they observed a broken phone case, a hair weave and earrings in the street on the 800 block of Moyer.
One woman, who is listed as a victim of assault on the police report, told police the fight started between her and another woman, also listed as a victim of assault, over a Twitter post.
She said she came to a residence on Moyer to fight the other woman, and that when she got there a suspect, whose name was redacted from the report, brandished a gun and told her, “We don’t fight around here, we shoot.”
The woman told police the suspect fired three rounds into the air, while she and another woman started to fight each other in the street and others observed.
Police did not locate any shell casings in the driveway where the suspect reportedly fired a gun.
