Autopsy set for man found dead on Warren street

WARREN — The Trumbull County coroner will conduct an autopsy today on the body of Elbert Brooks, 62, who was found dead Monday morning near the sidewalk in front of a car dealership.

Police were called at 10:08 a.m. to Grace Automotive, 2532 Youngstown Road, where two young men found Brooks’ body. They alerted employees and left. Brooks’ last known address was on Hazelwood Avenue Southeast, several blocks east of where his body was found.

Ambulance personnel attempted to revive Brooks, but he was pronounced dead at ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Warren police said there were no signs of trauma on the body and believe he died from medical problems. Surveillance video from a nearby business showed Brooks walking by himself in front of the business about 8:45 a.m., police said.
