1989: The Rev. George Clements, a priest who made headlines in his fight against drugs after getting fed up with officiating at the funerals of young people in his Chicago neighborhood, speaks at a banquet of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Mahoning Valley. He says communities must fight drug abuse at every level.

Mrs. Opal Lewis of Warren is the golf champion of Trumbull Country Club, joining her husband, Atty. George D. Lewis, who is the men’s champion at the same club. It is the first time that a husband and wife were champions.
