State releases money for YSU building upgrades
COLUMBUS — The state Controlling Board released $185,593 today for costs associated with a utilities upgrade at Youngstown State University.
The funds will go to C.L. Firestone Inc. of Youngstown for design services for the project, which involves the replacement of electrical wiring and related systems that are more than 30 years old.
The list includes improvements to an electrical substation, utility tunnel and sections of steam and chilled water piping, according to documents.
In other business, lawmakers signed off on $98,996 for repairs on several campus buildings at YSU constructed nearly 40 years ago. Glaus, Pyle, Schomer, Burns & DeHaven Inc.of Akron will handle the design work.
