State: Ebola monitoring continues, contacts drop

CLEVELAND (AP) — The state says it’s continuing to monitor dozens of people who had contact with a nurse who tested positive for the Ebola virus.

The Ohio Department of Health says there are no confirmed cases of Ebola in the state and three people are quarantined.

The agency said Monday that a total of 142 people are being monitored, or about ten fewer than a day earlier.

The state says figures of people who may have had contact with the nurse change daily as officials gather information on the nature of the contact.

Most monitoring involves people in Cuyahoga (and Summit counties, with smaller numbers in 15 other counties.

Those counties are: Belmont, Erie, Franklin, Geauga, Hamilton, Hardin, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Putnam, Stark, Tuscarawas and Wayne.
