HOMESAFE registration program is Thursday

AUSTINTOWN

Brookdale Senior Living/Clare Bridge Austintown and MAXIM Healthcare Services are sponsoring the Safe Senior Symposium and hosting Mahoning County Sheriff Office’s HOMESAFE registration program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Clare Bridge Austintown, 1420 S. Canfield-Niles Road.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required by Tuesday. Call Nickie Keagy at 330-270-1448.

Guest presenter is Robert Williams, assistant fire chief of the Austintown Fire Department. Light refreshments will be available, and there are door prizes.

Registration for the HOMESAFE program for people with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia will be available.

HOMESAFE is a database that is restricted to law enforcement only.

According to the sheriff’s website, the database will have the names, photos, personal information, the type of disability a person has, any medications the person may be taking and other pertinent information necessary, such as emergency contacts, should the person ever go missing.
