“Treehouse of Horror” (8 p.m., Fox): It’s “The Simpsons” 25th annual “Treehouse of Horror” episode and you know what that means: More macabre hilarity. Tonight’s special includes a segment in which Homer and Marge meet a ghost family that resembles the Simpsons as they appeared in 1987, when they debuted on “The Tracey Ullman Show.”

“CSI; CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION” (10 P.M., CBS): Things get extra creepy on “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” when the team finds itself looking into a group of spell-casting Wiccans after a high school chemistry teacher goes up in flames while conducting an experiment.

“Sunday Night Football” (8:20 P.M., NBC): The Broncos take on the 49ers in Denver.

“Masterpiece Mystery” (9 p.m., PBS): Inspector Lewis wraps up his current run with “Beyond Good and Evil.”

Mafia expert to visit library

Author Allan R. May will be the guest at a program at the Boardman Library, 7680 Glenwood Ave., at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. May will present his new book, “The Sly-Fanner Murders: The Birth of the Mayfield Road Mob, Cleveland’s Most Notorious Mafia Gang.”

May is an authority on the history of organized crime in the United States.

His earlier works include “Mob Stories” (2001) and “Gangland Gotham” (2009).

Recent publications include “Welcome to the Jungle Inn” (2011) and “Crimetown U.S.A. “(2013), both of which are about the Mahoning Valley.
