The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will return to Scottish Rite Cathedral on Tuesday to present “Halloween Pops: Memorable Music from Stage and Screen.”

Resident Conductor Lawrence Loh will lead this supernatural performance featuring music from “Spiderman,” “Batman: The Dark Knight Rises,” “Game of Thrones” and more, along with beloved concert pieces for this time of the year, such as “Danse Macabre” and “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.”

The performance begins at 8 p.m. and ticket prices range from $16 to $59.

For tickets, call the Heinz Hall box office at 412-392-4900 or go to pittsburghsymphony.org.

“I always love conducting the Pittsburgh Symphony at the majestic Scottish Rite Cathedral in New Castle,” said Loh. “It also happens to be the perfect setting for this Halloween pops concert, performing on a spellbinding stage in a building filled with mystery.”

Pittsburgh Symphony trumpeter Chad Winkler will be featured in a solo during a piece by Alexander Arutiunian that celebrates the folk music of the composer’s native Armenia.

“Since this is a Halloween pops concert, we would love it if the audience dressed up in costume to help bring in the spirit of the festivities,” said Loh.

Other upcoming concerts in the Pittsburgh Symphony’s Scottish Rite Cathedral series include “Holiday Pops” on Dec. 18 and “The Art of Music” on May 20.

Season tickets to all three concerts are available and range in price from $33 to $150.

All of PSO’s performances at the Scottish Rite Cathedral are part of the symphony’s child/parent program.

Student tickets (18 and under) are free with the purchase of a parent or guardian ticket.
