White House intern

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, has announced that Christopher Kromer of Warren has been selected for the White House Internship Program.

Kromer, a student at George Washington University Law School, is one of nearly 150 participants in the 2014 internship program.

White House interns are exposed to a wide range of work that provides valuable professional experience. The mission of the program is to make the White House accessible to future leaders around the nation and to prepare those dedicated to public service for future leadership opportunities.

Earned certification

Magistrate Donald C. Hepfner, administrator of the Mahoning County Domestic Relations Court, is among 31 court officials statewide who recently earned a nationally recognized court-manager certification.

The three-year, court-management training program leading to the certification is sponsored by the National Center for State Courts and the Ohio Supreme Court Judicial College.
