Pipe organ concert at Stambaugh

Yun Kyong Kim will perform a pipe organ concert at 4 p.m. Oct. 26 at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave.
Tickets are free but must be obtained in advance by calling the box office at 330-259-0555 or going to stambaughauditorium.com.
The concert is being presented by the Youngstown chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO).
Kim’s recent engagements have included solo performances at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in South Carolina, Methuen Memorial Music Hall, Washington National Cathedral, Ohio University and Miami University performing arts series, and as the featured recitalist at two national conventions of the Organ Historical Society.
Kim was born in Korea and moved to the United States at age 16. She received both her master’s and doctoral degrees in organ performance with minors in early music and music theory from Indiana University.
She also has studied and performed in North Germany and France.
Kim is a former dean of the Dayton Chapter of the AGO and served on the faculty at Ohio University.
Her program will consist of “Sospiri,” Op. 70 by Elgar; Elfes, Op. 7, No. 11 by Bonnet; Variations on a theme by Handel; Op. 29 by Landmann; “Live Wire” by Farrington; and “Carnival of the Animals” by Saint-Saens.
