Girl, 12, arrested in rape of 2-year-old

WARREN

A 12-year-old girl was arrested and taken to the Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Center after she confessed raping a 2-year-old Fifth Street Southwest girl, police say.

A detective with the Warren Police Department was called to the child’s apartment Thursday morning to investigate. He made the arrest about 90 minutes later at the Trumbull County Children Services agency.

A Warren police report says the 12-year-old lives in the same apartment as the victim and that the 2-year-old was injured — a possible internal injury.

The relationship between the 12-year-old and the victim was not given.

2 report assault outside apartments

WARREN

Two men reported being assaulted, and shots were fired at one of them outside the Stone Gate apartments, 1160 Robert Ave. NW, on Thursday night.

A 39-year-old city man said a man walked up to him and demanded money then pulled out a gun when the victim said he didn’t have any. He was struck in the face with the gun several times.

The victim ran toward a Stone Gate building, fell and was assaulted by another male, then got in the building and heard a gunshot.

A second victim, 34, from Warren, said he helped the first victim, and he, too, was struck in the face several times with the gun.

As the second victim tried to get away, the first suspect fired his gun at him and reached into the second victim’s car and took the victim’s wallet. The gunshot didn’t hit anyone. Both suspects ran off.
