Fatherhood program

WARREN

Trumbull County Children Services will introduce Father Focus, the new fatherhood program being developed by the agency, at 8:30 a.m. Monday in the agency’s gym, 2282 Reeves Road.

The county’s children services has partnered with Summit County Children Services where fathers are identified in 93 percent of their cases. At the session, the project will be formally introduced to the community.

Fall brush pickup

LEETONIA

Leetonia Village will start the 2014 fall brush pickup beginning Monday and continue through Oct. 31.

Residents are asked to stack all cut brush only in the curb-lawn area. Do not restrict sidewalks or ditches or place material on the street. Brush must be stacked in the same direction.

The village will not haul away entire trees that are cut down from private property, trimmings only.

Residents are asked not to mix leaves and other debris in the brush piles or they will not be picked up.

Child-porn charges

WARREN

A 25-year-old West Avenue Northwest man was taken into custody Friday after investigators with the Trumbull County Internet Crimes Against Children unit executed a search warrant at his house.

John Miller was charged with four felony child-pornography counts. He will be arraigned Monday in Warren Municipal Court. He was not home when investigators entered his home but arrived later.

The ICAC unit seized a computer, memory cards and other devices that hold digital information as part of the search warrant.

Investigators identified Miller’s activities through Internet investigatory techniques in July and furthered the investigation Friday by taking items into possession that will be analyzed by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

The ICAC unit consists of investigators from various police departments, including Warren, Howland, Hubbard and the sheriff’s office.

J-M PTA fall festival

NORTH JACKSON

Jackson-Milton Elementary School PTA’s Fall Festival will take place from noon to 4 p.m. next Saturday at the school. There will be free children’s activities, an auction, a 50/50 drawing, food, a haunted house and costume contest.

Judging for the costume contest is at 2 p.m., and the auction will take place at 3 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Jackson-Milton PTA.
