Jameson foundation plans 5th Paint the Town Pink

Staff report

NEW CASTLE, PA.

Jameson Health Care Foundation will present the 5th annual Paint the Town Pink: JHS Fashion Show & Marketplace from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the New Englander Banquet Complex, 3009 Wilmington Road.

Mistress of ceremonies for the event will be Jessica Seminera-Tomczyk, director of marketing at Pizza Joe’s and Daystar Marketing.

At the exhibitor marketplace the event will offer the chance to shop and explore 33 businesses in the area. Guests will get the chance to visit the Complete Cycle Breast Care exhibit, featuring a live Q&A from physician specialists and care teams.

Among the festivities will be a luxury basket auction with more than 50 baskets donated by JHS employees and local businesses.

The free family friendly event is open to all as it highlights the breast care services available at the Jameson Women’s Center. It specializes in expert early detection and recovery services for comprehensive breast care including mammography, stereotactic biopsy, breast surgery and breast reconstruction.

There’s a strong emphasis on early detection, with mammograms to begin at age 40 as recommended by the American Cancer Society.

Doug Danko will unveil the health system’s 2014 Pink Glove Dance video, featuring hundreds of JHS employees and community members dancing to spark awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer.

The video will come to life during the fashion show, which will feature more than 65 models on the runway supporting local boutiques.

Proceeds from Paint the Town Pink will benefit the Jameson Women’s Center.
