ALLIANCES

Ohio Cultural Alliance will have a dinner meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, Austintown. Dr. Warren Young will address the topic “Going Places With the Ohio Cultural Alliance: Germany.” The meal will be prepared by the club caterers. Cultural enrichment will be provided by the Canfield Community Band. Membership for the year continues at $25 per person, and the cost for each meeting is $15 for each paid-up member and $20 for each nonmember. Reservations must be received no later than Oct. 29. Reservations may be mailed to OCA, Box 561, Canfield, OH 44406. Those attending are encouraged to take nonperishable food items for the St. Columba food pantry.

ASSOCIATIONS

Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will begin a celebration of its 52nd anniversary at 6 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Fifth Season Banquet Center, 1400 N. Canfield-Niles Road in Mineral Ridge. The theme is “All Dolled Up,” and members and guests are being asked to dress accordingly. Guest speaker is Paula Farcas of T 4-2 Dolls. A buffet dinner will feature Parmesan-romano crusted chicken breast with spinach alfredo, slow-roasted beef sirloin au jus, penne pasta with marinara sauce, sauteed garlic green beans, garlic smashed redskin potatoes, tossed salad, dinner rolls, coffee and tea, and pumpkin roll. GUILDS

Holborn Herb Growers Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Colonial Inn at Canfield Fairgrounds. Barb DeLisio will demonstrate how to make bath potpourri. Members will take a sachet home. LEAGUES

League of Women Voters of Trumbull County will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Howland Administration Building. The speaker will discuss the changes coming in property taxes and the Homestead Tax and how to apply for it. New and potential members are welcome. League members will oversee the candidates night debate at 6 p.m. Oct. 23 at Harding High School.

LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of the Austintown Library will meet at 10 a.m. Oct. 27 in the community room of the Austintown Branch of the Youngstown Mahoning County Library. The speaker will be Lori Stone, who will discuss the changes in the military for women and will share information about the VA Clinic in Youngstown. Alzheimer Network Family Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St. These meetings are open to caregivers and family members of a loved one living with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. There is no charge for attendance.
