Woman burned in Warren apartment fire
WARREN
An elderly woman suffered first-degree burns during a smoking-related fire in her apartment at the Elms high rise apartment at 2300 Plaza Ave. NE Tuesday afternoon.
The woman, her chair and the carpeting around the chair were burned in the 3 p.m. incident. She was taken to an unspecified hospital for treatment. Her condition and age were not available.
The woman had gotten herself out of her apartment by the time firefighters arrived, Warren Fire Chief Ken Nussle said.
