Representatives to host public meeting

LIBERTY

Liberty Township officials and Republic/Allied Waste representatives will host a public meeting 7 p.m. Monday at the township administration building, 1315 Church Hill-Hubbard Road.

Republic Services/ Allied Waste will continue to provide residents curbside recycling refuse and recycling collection. Republic has made some changes in the collection of curbside recycling, however. Residents will receive a new 95 gallon recycling cart. On Oct. 27, residents will begin a new program with Republic Services with the collection of recycling every other week with the 95 gallon bins. Refuse collection will continue weekly.

Closed to traffic

YOUNGSTOWN

Market Street southbound lanes only will be closed to traffic Monday through next Wednesday to allow AT&T to place a crane on the thoroughfare in order to provide service to antennas at 15 Market St.

In addition to the street closure, public walkways adjacent to the crane lift will be closed in the interest of public safety. Vehicular and pedestrian detours will be posted.

Streets to close

YOUNGSTOWN

The 2014 Youngstown State University Homecoming Parade on Saturday will close several Youngstown streets.

These are Wood Street from Hazel Street to Fifth Avenue, closed 6 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., with local traffic permitted access to street until start of parade at 2 p.m. Northbound and southbound lanes of Fifth Avenue from Wood Street to Eastbound Service Road will be closed from 2 to 3:45 p.m.

Hazel from Commerce to Wood Streets as well as Elm from Wood to Rayen Streets will be closed from 1:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Eastbound Service Road from Fifth Avenue to Elm Street will also be affected as the parade progresses.

Ticket vouchers

CANFIELD

All local Handel’s locations will distribute vouchers this week for two free general-admission tickets to the Youngstown State University homecoming game Saturday against the Southern Illinois Salukis at Stambaugh Stadium. Kickoff for the game is planned for 4 p.m.

Fans can redeem the Handel’s ticket vouchers at the YSU athletic ticket office located inside Stambaugh Stadium the day of or before the Saturday game. For information, call 330-941-1YSU (1978).
