Man indicted on charge of raping 14-year-old boy in Warren park

A 61-year-old man with addresses on State Road in Champion and Vine Avenue in Warren was indicted Tuesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on a rape charge.

Michael E. Jachimiak is accused of raping a 14-year-old boy at Packard Park on Aug. 16. If convicted, he could get 10 years in prison.

The indictment says Jachimiak compelled the boy to submit to the sexual conduct by force or threat of force.

In another case, Tajuana R. DeLeon, 39, of Covington Street, Youngstown, was indicted on one count of robbery, accused of stealing $96 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 200 Goldie Road in Liberty, and getting into a scuffle with a Walmart loss-prevention official who tried to detain her, which resulted in an injury to the official.

If convicted, she could get eight years in prison.

Travis R. Cross, 30, of Difford Drive in Niles was indicted on one count of burglary and one count of felony theft, accused of committing thefts on two consecutive days in August in two towns.

He’s accused of stealing $2,209 worth of televisions from the Target store in the Eastwood Mall on Aug. 30 and committing a burglary on Washington Street in Warren on Aug. 31. If convicted, he could get about 10 years in prison.

Michael D. Chambers, 20, of Gaylord Street in Masury was indicted on one count of robbery and one count of vandalism, accused of having a ball peen hammer with him while committing a July 31 robbery at State Line Supermarket, 8271 Superior Street, Masury.

Brookfield police said Chambers went into the store three times trying to get beer but didn’t have any money. On the third trip, he took the beer out of the cooler and placed it on the counter, then smashed one of the bottles on the counter.

After he exchanged words with the clerk, he pulled out the hammer and smashed glass display cases and merchandise, then took some of the beer and left. The vandalism charge stems from $3,200 in damage to the store.

Also indicted on one count of burglary and two counts of grand theft was Michael S. Reddinger, 26, of Cascade Drive in Youngstown, accused of trespassing at 453 Kline Street in Girard on June 15 and taking two handguns. If convicted, he could get about 10 years in prison.
