Hydrant flushing set Thursday in Bazetta/Champion

Trumbull County Sanitary Engineer’s office workers will begin flushing fire hydrants in the Bazetta/Champion Water District on Thursday.

Hydrant flushing is a planned process in the water-distribution system to improve water quality by removing stagnant water, sediment and excessive mineral deposits from the inside walls of the water mains and discharging them out of the system through fire hydrants.

Customers may experience temporary water discoloration, which is not harmful and should clear within one to two hours of flushing in the area. Customers may also experience fluctuating water pressure, which is also temporary.

If discoloration continues for more than two hours after the crews have left the area, call 330-675-2775.
