Authority OKs proposed new daily air service to unspecified Midwestern hub airport

VIENNA

The Western Reserve Port Authority approved a resolution this morning approving a proposed new daily air service between the Youngstown Warren Regional Airport and an unspecified Midwestern hub airport.

Dan Dickten, director of aviation at Youngstown, said he hopes an announcement of the new service will be given in the next month or so.

John Moliterno, the port authority's new executive director, said the public should know that the port authority isn't tying to be deceptive; officials are not allowed to name the Midwest airport until it is approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
