Youngstown police arrest man in connection with shooting

YOUNGSTOWN — Police arrested a man in connection with a shooting early this morning.

Edward Mclane, 26, of Youngstown, is expected to be arraigned this afternoon on a charge of felonious assault.

Reports said officers were called to the area of Dogwood Lane on the East Side for a shooting and found drops of blood. The victim was already at the hospital and told police there that it was Mclane who shot him, reports said.

Mclane was spotted about 2:20 a.m. on Stewart Avenue driving a car, which police pulled over.

Mclane was taken into custody and placed in the Mahoning County jail.
