Doctor: Ohio woman injured by rock on car doing well
DANVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A doctor says the Ohio woman severely injured after a rock was dropped on her family’s car from a central Pennsylvania overpass says she is doing “very, very well.”
PennLive.com reports that Dr. Edward Heinle says he didn’t expect 52-year-old Sharon Budd of Uniontown, Ohio, to make so much progress so quickly.
Dr. Heinle has been treating Budd at Geisinger HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital, and he says her ability to speak and walk has improved.
He said she had some setbacks after her fifth surgery on Oct. 2 to close an air passenger in the brain, but her health is generally good.
Budd was injured when the football-sized rock crashed through the windshield on July 10 during the family’s trip to New York. Four teenagers have been charged.
