Youngstown SOUP seeks proposals for community projects

Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown SOUP is seeking project proposals for its final event of the year, planned for 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Calvin Center For The Arts, 755 Mahoning Ave.

Youngstown SOUP is a micro-granting dinner celebrating creative projects in Youngstown. Cost is $5.

Homemade soups will be served. As guests eat, representatives from four community projects will share their idea and answer questions from attendees, all in less than four minutes.

Guests will receive ballots to vote on their favorite community project and soup.

Ballots will be counted at the end of the evening, with the winning community project earning the funds collected during the event and the winning soup earning a gift certificate to a local grocery store.

The event is open to all and is first-come, first served at the door.

Community-project proposals are due by Friday. To submit a project or a soup, visit www.YoungstownSoup.com.
