‘Orphan Train’ to be discussed

SALEM

Salem Public Library’s Adult Book Discussion Group will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Nov. 25 in the library’s Quaker Room, 821 E. State St., to discuss the book “Orphan Train” by Christina Baker Kline.

The years between 1854 and 1929 were filled with the relocation of neglected and homeless children, many of which were from New York City, to homes in rural America. The hope was the children would find loving homes and a brighter future with good families. This is a story of upheaval, resilience and the strength of friendship.

The group meets the fourth Tuesday of each month and is open to the public.

Discussion books may be borrowed from the library or downloaded through the library’s website connection to the Ohio Digital Library.

Call the library at 330-332-0042 for information.
