Top-ranked, unbeaten North Dakota State broke away with three scores after halftime to extended its Division I-best win streak to 30 games. The FCS No. 1 Bison (6-0, 2-0 Missouri Valley Conference) never trailed, riding the arm of Carson Wentz for 174 yards and two TDs along with rushing touchdowns from John Crockett, Chase Morlock and Wentz. Adam Keller kicked a 46-yard field goal late in the first quarter, and Wentz scored on a 13-yard run to build a 10-0 lead. The Salukis (5-2, 2-1) came as close as 10-7 when MyCole Pruitt hauled in a 26-yard pass from Mark Ianotti. Pruitt, who came in with three straight 100-yard receiving games, was held to 55 on seven catches.

Sawyer Kollmorgen and Brion Carnes each threw touchdown passes. South Dakota (2-4, 0-2) opened the game with an 11-play, 76-yard drive which culminated when Trevor Bouma scored on a 17-yard run. He finished with 70 yards on 14 carries. Northern Iowa (3-3, 1-1), however, would score 17-straight points, including Carnes’ 28-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Vereen, Jr., and lead the rest of the way. Northern Iowa had seven sacks, including three by Brett McMakin, keeping Kevin Earl, who was injured South Dakota’s season opener against Oregon, on the run most of the game. Earl completed 17 of 29 passes for 260 yards, including a 25-yard TD pass to Brandt Van Roekel to cap a 99-yard scoring drive, in his return.
South Dakota State 32, Missouri State 28

Zach Lujan threw three touchdowns to Jake Wieneke. Lujan finished with 17-of-28 passing for 310 yards for the Jackrabbits (4-2, 1-1). Zach Zenner ran for 149 yards and a score on 27 carries. Wieneke had eight receptions for 183 yards. Lujan threw 78- and 10-yard touchdown passes to Wieneke in the second quarter. But Missouri State’s Kierra Harris and Calan Crowder combined for four rushing touchdowns in the first half to give the Bears (3-3, 0-2) a 28-17 lead at halftime. After a scoreless third quarter, Lujan and Wieneke connected again for a 26-yard touchdown early in the fourth and Zenner ran it in for another score.
Illinois State 20, Indiana State 18
TERRE HAUTE, IND.
Nick Aussieker kicked a 20-yard field goal with three seconds remaining, helping Illinois State survive a late rally to stay unbeaten. The Redbirds (5-0, 2-0) overcame a 6-0 halftime deficit and charged ahead with a 26-yard rushing touchdown by Marshaun Coprich and a 2-yard score by Bryce Holm to make it 17-6 with 9:45 remaining. Indiana State (4-2, 1-1) stormed back as Matt Adam led two scoring drives, the first ending with an 18-yard connection to Gary Owens. Adam hit A.J. Johnson for a 37-yard strike to push ahead with 1:13 remaining. The Sycamores failed on two-point attempts after each of the touchdowns.
