Mount Union senior quarterback Kevin Burke threw for three scores and ran for three scores as the defense posted its second straight shutout. Burke was 20-of-31 for 327 yards passing and rushed for 65 yards on eight carries as he led an offense that generated 656 yards of offense. His top target was junior wide receiver Roman Namdar, who had a career-high 176 yards receiving on seven catches with a touchdown, while junior wide receiver Taurice Scott had 63 yards receiving on a career-high nine catches with two scores. The Raiders rolled up 305 rushing yards as sophomore Bradley Mitchel had a game-high 93 rushing yards. The defense held Ohio Northern to 130 total yards with nine tackles for loss, three sacks and a pair of interceptions.

Westminster 40, Thiel 28

NEW WILMINGTON, PA.

Freshman quarterback Paul Columbo threw four touchdowns, completing 20-of-30 passes for a 317 yards for the Titans (1-5, 1-3 Presidents’ Athletic Conference. Khurazze Williams made seven receptions for 118 yards and two scores. Senior Justin Smith led the Titan defense with eight tackles. Sophomore Wayne Seamans, freshman Todd Jeter and junior Justin Shaw added seven tackles each. For the Tomcats (2-4, 1-3), Wes Schmidt tallied 14 tackles and one forced fumble. Also for Thiel, Tom Thorpe and Steve Kozuch each recorded 1.5 sacks. Radke led the Tomcats with 62 rushing yards on 19 attempts. He completed 24-of-53 passes for 323 yards. Senior Robert Partridge threw for a career-high 410 yards for the Terriers (3-3, 2-3 North Coast Athletic Conference). The Lords drop to 0-5, 0-4. Partridge completed 24-of-35 passes and also threw for three touchdowns. He also had 24 yards on five carries. Sophomore receiver Joshua Philander hauled in six catches for a career best 203 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Hiram was led by sophomore Kyle Burchett who had 14 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

The Storm defense made several key stops late as they rallied in the fourth quarter. The Storm defense forced eight turnovers overall, including six interceptions. Tony Andrews set a Storm record with four interceptions. In addition to two interceptions, Maurice Hale shared the team-high for tackles with Nick Iapolo and Davon Daniels with six stops apiece. Anthony Bilal had 33 rushes for 228 yards. Ryan Bitzer completed 10-of-22 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns. Tommy Jackson (Hubbard) was Bitzer’s top target, catching three passes for 79 yards.

West Virginia 37, Texas Tech 34

LUBBOCK, TEXAS

Sophomore Josh Lambert kicked a career-long 55-yard field goal as time expired to lift West Virginia. The Mountaineers (4-2, 2-1 Big 12) rallied from 14 points down in the fourth quarter to beat the Red Raiders (2-4, 0-3), who dropped their fourth straight game, losing their first three conference games for the first time since 1990.

Duquesne 28, Central Connecticut State 20

NEW BRITAIN, CONN.

Dillon Buechel threw for 333 yards and four touchdowns to lead Duquesne. Buechel threw two touchdown passes to Chris King in the first quarter and Duquesne (4-2, 1-0 Northeast Conference) took a 14-10 halftime lead. King finished with 147 yards and three touchdowns. Buchel, who has now thrown for 1,904 yards this season, connected with Devin Rahming for a score to open the third quarter. Rahming pulled in eight passes for 93 yards.

Dayton 31, Marist 21

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.

Will Bardo passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as Dayton forced seven turnovers and twice came from behind to defeat Marist. Dayton (4-1, 2-0 Pioneer League) trailed 7-0 and 14-7 in the first quarter when Marist’s Anthony Francis twice hooked up with Armani Martin for scoring passes. But in between the TDs, Francis threw the first of four interceptions. He was picked off by Zach Elias, who returned it to the 2, setting up Bardo’s toss to Ian Palin one play later. The Red Foxes (1-6, 1-3) held a slight edge in total yards (308-292) but were stalled by turnovers.

Miami 55, Cincinnati 34

MIAMI GARDENS, FLA.

Duke Johnson became Miami’s career leader in all-purpose yards, Brad Kaaya threw three touchdown passes plus ran for another, and the Hurricanes defeated Cincinnati. Phillip Dorsett caught two long touchdown passes for Miami, Clive Walford also had a touchdown catch and Tyriq McCord added a 46-yard interception return for another score for the Hurricanes — who have topped Cincinnati 11 straight times.
