Adoption classes start Oct. 28

Staff report

WARREN

Northeast Ohio Adoption Services will have free Adoption/Foster Care Pre-Placement Education classes for Ohio couples or singles starting Oct. 28.

People who have been considering becoming a foster or adoptive parent or adults older than 21 can find out more about Ohio children and teens served by the child-welfare system and the importance of love, stability and a permanent home.

The classes start Oct. 28 and continue through Nov. 18 at NOAS offices, 5000 E. Market St., Suite 26. Participants will learn more about the care, commitment and strategies that often are helpful for foster and adopted children.

The sign-up deadline for the classes is Oct. 21. If a participant cannot attend a certain session, makeup opportunities are available. Call Cindy Wallis at 800-686-6627, ext. 126, to register. An informational packet will be sent in the mail after registration.

NOAS does not charge fees to families for adoption. It is a private, nonprofit agency for Ohio families who live within 90 minutes of Warren. Since 1978, it has developed families for more than 1,200 children and teens. The organization’s website is www.noas.com.
