BOARDMAN
The second annual “Beauty Gives Back” event, hosted by Tarte Cosmetics of New York and Ulta Beauty, will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Youngstown.
The event, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 15, will be at Ulta in the Shops at Boardman Park, 403 Boardman-Poland Road.
Mary Hall of Canfield is Tarte’s regional education manager and helps coordinate the brand’s presence on QVC.
She said last year’s event exceeded everyone’s expectations, raising more than 700 pounds of food for Second Harvest Food Bank.
“The people of the Mahoning Valley are so generous, and the Boys & Girls Club is so deserving of that,” she said. “The kids have a safe place to learn and socialize, and that’s so important for their personal growth.”
The Boys & Girls Club has members age 6 to 18. It provides meals, tutoring, recreation and programs to encourage healthy lifestyles.
The club’s wish list for donations includes healthful snacks/juice boxes; paper plates; plastic utensils; napkins/paper towels; hand soap; hats/gloves/socks; board games/puzzles/playing cards; pens; pencils; paper and art/crafts supplies.
Tarte, known for its philanthropic efforts and partnership with cooperatives in the Amazon region, will provide complimentary makeovers in exchange for donations to the program.
For every item donated, guests will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of three $200 Tarte gift baskets.
Consultations with Tarte makeup artists are by appointment only, though an appointment is not needed to donate. Those who want to secure a spot for a makeup consultation can call Ulta at 330-629-6276.
