BOARDMAN
Township police are investigating a case in which a 77-year-old woman was found floating unresponsive in a pool at her Turnberry Drive home.
According to a police report, officers arrived Thursday afternoon after an ambulance and firefighters had arrived, and saw the victim lying naked on the ground next to the pool while an emergency responder performed CPR.
The victim’s son and home-health-care worker were at the house at the time. The son reported to police that the health-care worker asked him to keep an eye on his mother while the health-care worker did laundry.
Sometime after that, they discovered the woman’s clothes on the couch and went out to the backyard, where they found her floating in the pool.
The son pulled his mother out of the pool and found that she was unresponsive, the report said.
She was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where she was revived.
According to the report, there has been an Adult Protective Services investigation into the care of the woman for the past several weeks. An Adult Protective Services investigator comes to the residence once a week to check on the care being given.
No information was available about her current condition.
