GIRLS TENNIS
Maria Stroup and Ellie Cole of Warren JFK advanced to the second round of the Division II district girls tennis tournament at Harvard Park in Canton. They won 6-2, 7-6 (3) and will face Adrian Young and Alissa Nakamoto of Orange today. In singles play, Elise Eckman of Poland was the only local player to win a first-round match. However she fell in the second round to Sydney Green of Hawken 6-0, 6-4. Eckman will play Bella Sirpilla of Canton Central Catholic to earn a spot in the fifth-place match. Gianna Reider of Cardinal Mooney, Kara Thompson of Struthers and Allison Christopher of Ursuline suffered first-round losses.

Badger 2, Maplewood 1
Cheyanne Dickson and Holly Masters scored for the Braves (12-3-1, 8-0 Northeastern Athletic Conference), who won their fourth consecutive NAC championship. Masters also assisted on Dickson’s goal. Letcher scored the Rockets’ lone goal midway thru the second half. Izabella Armstrong had 10 saves for Badger and Minor had six for the Rockets.

E.J. Miller had a pair of goals for Crestview in its regular season finale win over Salem. Tobin Gross, Josh McGoogan, Brandon Veiock and Mitch Lindsay accounted for the rest of the Rebels scoring. Scott Murray made two saves in net for the Rebels (12-3-1).
Poland 1, LaBrae 0
POLAND
Anthony Sabula scored the lone goal of the match to lift Poland over LaBrae. Bryan Montgomery made two saves and Chad Svatosky one for the Bulldogs. LaBrae keeper Austin Jones stopped 14 shots. JV: LaBrae 3-2.

BEAVER TOWNSHIP
Lexi DeSantis had 18 kills, three digs, five points and two blocks to help South Range top Crestview. Madison Juillerat recorded 38 assists and 11 points, while Jordan Youngs added seven kills, 14 digs and nine points for the Raiders (18-4, 13-1). Brooke Harper had 21 digs and 11 kills and Sierra Rance had 17 digs and 11 points for the Rebels (13-7). JV: Crestview 2-1.

COLUMBIANA
Abby Smally had 27 kills and Alivia Brothers had 21 digs as Southern outlasted Columbiana. Natalie Utt had 19 digs and four blocks, while Anna Sevek added 21 kills for the Indians. Shayla Ray recorded her 1,000 kill and finished with 27 of them on the night for Columbiana. Lauren Schlueter added 14 digs, seven points, four blocks and 48 assists for the Clippers (11-8, 7-6).
