Society will offer open house

Poland Historical Society will have an open house at the Little Red Schoolhouse, 4515 Center Road, which is at the intersection of Center Road (Rt. 224) and Struthers Road in Poland Township.
The event will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Society members will provide pumpkin painting and activities for children.
The Poland Historical Society meets the third Tuesday of each month at the Little Red Schoolhouse. The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 21. Election of officers and trustees for 2015 will take place. The program at 7:30 will feature Traci Manning, curator of education at the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, with a presentation about David Tod and the Civil War.
October begins the society membership drive. Annual dues are $10 per person. Send checks payable to the Poland Historical Society, P.O. Box 5052, Poland, OH 44514. Include your name, address, phone number and email address.
The society is dependent on membership dues and donations to maintain the Little Red Schoolhouse and to provide historical programs for the community.
