A summary of police activity from the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Sept. 20

Drug abuse: Police arrested Nicholas Roberts, 24, of Westchester Drive, Austintown, on a charge of drug abuse.

Sept. 26

Identity fraud: A resident of a home in the 100 block of Queens Lane reported being a victim of identity fraud.

Oct. 2

Drug paraphernalia: Police arrested Joseph Newman, 63, of Woodbine Street, Youngstown, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Oct. 4

Drug abuse: Police arrested Justin Barker, 25, of Timber Run Drive, Canfield, on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.

AUSTINTOWN

Sept. 29

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s quarter panel was scratched and dented. It was parked at a home in the 3000 block of Edinburgh Drive.

Burglary: A 60-foot pipe was cut out of a vacant house in the 1000 block of Maplecrest Drive.

Warrant: Police arrested Matthew Lombel, 33, of Timberidge Drive, on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a traffic violation.

Warrant: Police arrested Timothy Banks, 20, no address given, on two active warrants for theft and one for failure to appear. He also was also arrested for theft of a carton of cigarettes at Save-A-Step, 4226 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Police arrested Paul J. Rudiak,29, of Staatz Drive, on a warrant for receiving stolen property, including jewelry and precious coins.

Theft: A purse was taken from an auto parked at a home in the 4000 block of Kirk Road.

Theft: An orange Mongoose bike was stolen from a home in the 80 block of Forest Hill Drive.

Theft: An iPhone 6 was stolen from Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive, and later recovered in Boardman.

Burglary: A home in the 400 block of Westgate Boulevard was burglarized while the homeowner was away. The back door was forced in and items taken were a television, Playstation, and a jar of change.

Sept. 30

Drug offense: Police arrested Rushie Scott, 20, of South Schenley Avenue, Youngstown, on a charge of possession of crack cocaine.

Summons: Police issued a summons to Monay Robinson, 37, of Shirley Road, Youngstown, on a summons for obstructing official business.

Bad check: A check for a wedding for $2,176.35 bounced at Fifth Seasons, 1400 S. Canfield-Niles Road.

Burglary: Several items were stolen from a residence in the 50 block of Parkgate Avenue. Brett Wilson, 34, homeless, was later arrested on a charge of breaking and entering.

Theft: Ten pairs of RayBan glasses were stolen at Optical Solutions, 6606 Mahoning Ave.

ID Theft: A fraudulent loan account was opened at a home in the 100 block of North Edgehill Avenue.

Theft: A wallet was stolen off the counter at Rite Aid, 5498 Mahoning Ave.

Oct. 1

Fraud investigation: Police investigated a credit- card fraud reported by the homeowner who lives in the 400 block of Forest Hill Drive.

Breaking and entering: Copper pipes were stolen at a home in the 4000 block of Viall Road.

Theft: An unlocked car was entered and a laptop, GPS and book bag were stolen. The car was parked at a home in the 200 block of Third Street.

Theft: Police arrested Shannon Boggs, 33, of West First Street, Niles, and Thomas Hiley, 49, same address, on theft charges for reportedly taking $220 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Assault: A woman told police she was punched in the chest at a home in the 3000 block of Claridge Drive.

Warrant: Police arrested Jason Averill, 34, of Celeste Circle, Austintown, on a warrant for domestic violence.

Theft: A gift card was stolen at Briarfield Manor, 461 S. Canfield-Niles Road.

Animal complaint: A dog bite was reported at a home in the 500 block of Western Place.

Burglary: An XBox and guitar were stolen from an apartment in the 80 block of North Raccoon Road.

Oct. 2

Theft: Miscellaneous tools and wheel covers were stolen from an auto parked in the 30 block of North Beverly Ave.

Warrant: Michael Kollat, 21, of Risher Road, Warren, surrendered to police. He was wanted on a warrant for assault.

Aggravated burglary: A male forced his way into an apartment and assaulted a female at a home in the 7000 block of Callaway Circle.

Lost or stolen property: An Ohio dealer plate was reported missing at Steel Town Motors, 6617 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Police arrested David Baker, 51, of Herons Boulevard, on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Criminal damaging: Damage to a sump pump was reported at a home in the 6000 block of Pineridge Court.

Oct. 3

Fraud: Police said a woman is a suspect in a check-kiting fraud in the amount of $2,491.80 at Farmer’s National Bank, 22 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Breaking and entering: Copper pipes were stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Viall Road.

Identity theft: Personal information was used to open a credit-card account for a person who lives in a home in the 4000 block of Kerrybrook Drive.

Assault on police: Police arrested Margaret Kluska, 67, of Fairground Boulevard, Canfield, on a charge of assault on a police officer.

Oct. 4

Lost/recovered property: A cellphone was lost or stolen at Walmart, and later recovered.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Cary Gurley, 36, of Atlanta Avenue, was issued a summons for possession of marijuana.

Theft: Three cellphones were stolen from Walmart.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted texts were reported at a home in the 100 block of Idaho Road.

Oct. 5

Assault: An employee and a customer were involved in an altercation at Burger King, 5310 Mahoning Ave.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Jeremy Bowser, 37, of Sarver,Pa., on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Arrest: Police arrested William Walker, 23, of Scott Street, Warren, on a charge of obstructing official business at Bill’s Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Police arrested John Blazo, 52, of New Road, on a warrant for fraud.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Dontai Young, 34, of Merriweather Street Northwest, Warren, for possession of marijuana.

Disorderly conduct: Police arrested Richard Markel, 43, Sandy Road, North Jackson, on a charge of disorderly conduct at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course, 777 Hollywood Drive.

Burglary: A house was ransacked and copper taken at a home in the 1000 block of Orkney Avenue.
