Poland Historical Society to host open house
The Poland Historical Society will host an open house at the Little Red Schoolhouse, located at 4515 Center Road in Poland Township on Oct. 12 from 1-3 p.m. Society members will provide pumpkin painting and activities for children to enjoy during the event.
The Poland Historical Society meets the third Tuesday of each month at the Little Red Schoolhouse. Their meeting on Oct. 21 begins at 6:30 p.m. Election of officers and trustees for 2015 will take place during this meeting. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. and feature guest speaker Traci Manning, Curator of Education at the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, with a presentation about David Tod and the Civil War.
October begins the membership drive for the Poland Historical Society. The annual membership dues are $10 per person. Send checks made payable to the Poland Historical Society to P.O. Box 5052, Poland, OH 44514. Be sure to include your name, address, phone number and email address along with your check. The Society is dependent on membership dues and donations to maintain the Little Red Schoolhouse and to provide interesting historical programs for the community.
